Sixty inch diameter yin yang golden acrylic painting on the finest medium weight single layer stretched Irish linen. The stretcher wood is handmade Baltic birch 3/4 thick. Sanded and painted for a thousand years of protection. No water used only mediums to cut or make the paint flow smoothly. The subject in the piece deals with my experiences about the topic of life as a journey and what I came to the conclusion of putting into a monumental work of art. Yin/Yan was an appropriate symbol depicting lifes' creation and the striving to explore space and colonize other star systems
. I chose Orion in this case because it contains the three stars suggested influenced the location of the last wonders of creation - The Great Pyramid of Giza. Separating the Yin and Yang is a strand of DNA Double Helix symbol. Enclosing the Central Yin Yang design are one-hundred oval shapes framing enigmatic human figures representing our ancestors from which human progress we enjoy through their labors and discoveries. And to finally drive home the title an eye is placed in the center of the painting. The eye of self awareness and consciousness that we have and may only be experienced in the universe.
